WILL:

In the Name of God Amen

I George Bachman Sen of the Township and County of Lunenburg in the Province of Nova Scotia Yeoman considering the state of this mortal life and being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed by Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say as for that worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with I dispose thereof as follows:

First I give and bequeath unto my seven sons that is to say George Bachman, Daniel Bachman, Benjamin Bachman, Caleb Bachman, Joshua Bachman, David Bachman and Nathaniel Bachman the land that I dwell on with dwelling house and barn being about sixty acres more or less. I also give unto my seven aforenamed sons my big lot lying in the rear of Northwest. I likewise give unto my seven sons the island which I own being one half of Ragged Island to them their heirsand assigns for ever I request that if any of my sons should depart this life without any heirs his portion after his death shall equally be divided among his remaining brothers. I likewise request that all my moveable property or personal estate with household furniture shall be equally divided between my seven aforenamed sons.

I give and bequeath unto my four daughters that is to say Sarah Slaugenweit wife of David Slaugenweit, Sophia Heckman wife of Daniel Heckman, Mary Ann Cruickshank wife of John Cruickshank, and Catherine Meisinger wife of Martin Meisinger the sum of twenty Pounds each to them their heirs and assigns for ever which they shall draw eighteen months after my death out of my estate.

Lastly I nominate and appoint my two sons George Bachman and Daniel Bachman as executors of this my Last Will and Testament as witnesses whereof we have hereunto set our hands this fifth day of August in the Year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty nine.

Signed and published declared by the said testator to be his last will and testament in presence of us who have hereunto set our hands as witnesses in the presence of the said testator.
