The Main River separates Klein Heubach (Little Heubach) on the right
from Grosse Heubach (Big Heubach) on the left.
During the time our ancestors were still living here,
these two towns would have been in separate political jurisdictions.
This area is in the north east part of Bavaria,
which was predominantly Roman Catholic.
However, Klein Heubach was in a small Protestant enclave.
Although the river appears to be small and gentle,
the "Flood" link will attest that the river can get much bigger.

The river is still an important part of the transportation system.
